Our Service
Dependable Sewer Line Inspection Service in Burleson, TX
A clear view inside your sewer line removes the guesswork from recurring backups, slow drains, and yard sinkholes. Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter runs video inspections throughout Burleson, TX, sending a flexible camera through cleanouts directly into the main line. Our team records the entire run, marking the location and depth of any defects along the way. Tree roots, bellied sections, offset joints, cracks, grease buildup, and collapsed pipe all show up clearly on camera. Older Burleson homes often have cast iron or clay sewer lines that corrode, scale, or shift over time. Real estate transactions, recurring clogs, and new home purchases are all smart times for a sewer inspection. We share the footage and explain findings in plain terms, with no pressure to upsell unnecessary work. The inspection helps decide between simple cleaning, spot repair, or full line replacement. Cleanout access is verified before the camera goes in, and we install temporary access when needed. Pricing is shared clearly before any work begins. Findings come with documentation suitable for insurance claims or buyer negotiations. Since 2007, Burleson families and real estate agents have trusted our crew for honest, accurate sewer assessments.

They were honest, got the work done when they said,at the price they said.Very professional, hard honest workers!
CHRIS & BRODY great team, in/out same day, very professional, very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, clean, clean, clean. Explained steps, Communicated proficiently, let Granny hover, & watch, I'm not easy client for any professional. The only thing I wish warranty was minimum 90 days, but I've used, & trusted 1960's plumbing issues, since 2015. We learned to do both roof top clean outs 100 feet minimum for tree roots backing up toilet paper, we only use cheap Scott very thin toilet paper if we don't want more than 1X year clean out. We are seniors, fixed income, every plumbing emergency comes out of food budget. We eat beans & corn bread when we have plumbing issues. God Bless Curly's BIG BLADE PLUMBING Out of Cleburne, Texas. Denise & Christy answer phones, very polite, always helpful, Denise will get you on schedule as soon as possible, never waited very long especially in sewage backups. I always ask for clean, knowledgeable, experienced plumbers. I don't hesitate to call CURLY'S BIG BLADE PLUMBING.
Very good experience! Everyone that I encountered from this organization was kind and helpful from the lady that answered the phone to the plumber and his helper who did the job. I was scheduled promptly. They called and gave me the time that he would arrive. The job was done quickly and professionally by a Master plumber. They also left things clean and showed me how things work ed. I will use them again when I have plumbing needs.
I had a great experience with Curly’s Big Blade Plumbing installing my new water heater. The team was professional, on time, and clearly knew what they were doing. They explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and made sure the job was done right the first time. Big Blade did a great job for me. They came quickly and completed everything with good quality. They also offered good advice on some minor chages that will make a difference going forward.
Huge thank you to Lee and his helper! I had a hose burst on my water heater in the early morning. Big Blade was able to send a crew out fast and get the hose replaced.
Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter came out to fix an incoming water line that was leaking in between two bushes. The previous company had quoted a higher price and wanted to remove the bushes and replace the shut off valve, which was still good. Big Blade Plumbing fixed the leak for a much cheaper price and didn’t remove any bushes. For that I give them 5 Stars.
Absolutely one of the best out there! You cannot go wrong using Big Blade, they are awesome.
The price they quoted was the price we paid. No hidden fees! Quality work at a fair price! Professional and courteous!
After having a different company come out and price gouge me and calling around I couldn’t find anybody to help me with my clogged line, I was parked at a gas station and saw BIG BLADE truck drive by so I got out my phone and called, I was greeted on the phone by Denise who was extremely polite and professional, with no high pressure in setting the appointment. The price was extremely fair and affordable so we went ahead and booked an appointment, Hershel and Dylan arrived promptly like within 30-40 minutes of us calling and setting the appointment, they got here and did exactly what they said they were going to without pressuring me into getting other services they executed the repair so fast and explained to me about my 30 day warranty and potential risks to look out for in the future! I would HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND using this service. Amazing job thank you guys so much for you’re help and relieving me of all the stress that comes with plumbing difficulties!

Sewer Line Inspection Service
Understanding what a sewer camera inspection actually does helps homeowners appreciate why this diagnostic method has become so valuable in modern plumbing service across the industry. The camera consists of a waterproof head attached to a flexible push cable that threads through drainage piping from accessible entry points like cleanouts and removable fixtures. A monitor displays real-time video of the pipe interior as the camera advances, showing the homeowner and plumber exactly what conditions exist inside the line at every point. Recording capability captures the inspection for later review, documentation purposes, and sharing with other parties involved in the property transaction or maintenance planning. Lighting built into the camera head illuminates the pipe interior so the video shows clear detail of conditions that would otherwise remain hidden from any other diagnostic method. Locating equipment paired with the camera identifies the exact position and depth of any issue found inside the pipe, which supports targeted repair planning without exploratory excavation. The technology has transformed plumbing diagnosis from educated guessing to direct observation that gives certainty about what is actually happening underground or behind walls in real time. Modern cameras provide image quality that earlier generations of equipment could not match, with high resolution video that reveals subtle conditions easily. Our team uses professional-grade camera equipment that delivers the image quality required for accurate diagnosis on every inspection we perform.
Sewer inspections during home purchases have become increasingly common as buyers and inspectors recognize the value of knowing pipe condition before closing on a property. Older homes often have aging sewer systems with conditions that affect long-term value and immediate function in ways no surface inspection can identify. Tree roots growing into sewer lines through tiny cracks create problems that worsen over time but may not be obvious during a basic home inspection by a general inspector. Bellied or sagging pipe sections collect water and debris, causing chronic slow drainage that homeowners may have lived with as normal but that represents a defect needing attention. Broken or collapsed pipe sections allow soil and groundwater infiltration that progressively worsens until major repair becomes necessary, often costing thousands to address. Material concerns in older homes include cast iron pipes that have corroded internally over decades, clay tile lines with joint failures common in homes from earlier construction eras, and various other conditions that affect remaining service life significantly. Camera inspection during the option period of a real estate transaction provides buyers with negotiating leverage and information for informed decisions about the purchase. Sellers sometimes commission their own inspections to address issues proactively before listing, which speeds the eventual transaction. Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter handles real estate inspections throughout Burleson regularly with the timing flexibility that purchase contracts require.
Diagnosing recurring drain problems through camera inspection often reveals underlying issues that explain why repeated cleaning has not produced lasting results in a particular line. Tree roots that have penetrated sewer lines through cracks or joint failures will keep returning even after thorough root cutting because the entry points remain in place. Multiple cleaning service calls within short periods often signal these structural issues rather than just routine maintenance needs the homeowner has been told about. Bellied sections that trap water and debris create chronic problems that cleaning addresses temporarily but cannot solve permanently without pipe repair. Broken pipe sections allow constant infiltration of soil and debris that quickly recreates blockage conditions after each cleaning service. Improper pipe sizing or pitch from original installation creates flow problems no amount of cleaning will fully resolve, requiring more substantial work to fix. The camera inspection shows the actual cause and allows informed decisions about repair versus continued cleaning based on real information rather than guesses. Some homeowners choose to manage problems with regular cleaning when repair would be disruptive or expensive, while others invest in permanent solutions once the underlying cause is identified clearly. Both choices are valid when made with accurate information about what is actually happening inside the pipes day after day.
Routine inspection for older properties provides preventive value that catches developing issues before they become emergencies requiring expensive response. Homes with cast iron drainage piping benefit from periodic inspection as the material ages because internal corrosion gradually worsens flow capacity and structural integrity over decades. Properties with mature trees near sewer lines deserve attention for root intrusion that develops over years of growth toward the moisture inside the pipes. Clay tile sewer lines, common in some older Burleson neighborhoods, sometimes develop joint failures that allow root entry and other problems over time. Galvanized drain lines used in some older homes have their own failure modes that benefit from monitoring. Camera inspection every few years on these properties catches problems while they remain manageable rather than waiting for emergencies that disrupt daily life and cost more to resolve. Documentation of inspection findings creates a record showing how the system condition changes over time across multiple inspections. Homeowners with this baseline information make better decisions about timing of major repairs or replacements as systems age. Our maintenance plan customers receive periodic inspections as part of their service to support ongoing system health monitoring.
Post-cleaning verification through camera inspection confirms drain cleaning work was thorough and identifies any remaining issues that need attention beyond the immediate cleaning. Comparing before-and-after camera footage shows the improvement from cleaning work and provides homeowners with visual evidence of the value delivered by the service. Sometimes cleaning reveals underlying issues that need follow-up repair work even when the immediate cleaning was effective at restoring flow. Other times the camera confirms the line is now in good condition and supports continued maintenance schedules with confidence. Either outcome benefits the homeowner with accurate information about system status after the cleaning service completes. Documentation of post-cleaning condition creates a baseline for future comparison if problems develop later in the same system. The inspection adds modest cost to the cleaning service but provides assurance and information that justifies the investment for many situations. Hydro jetting customers particularly benefit from camera verification because the more thorough cleaning typically reveals conditions previously hidden by buildup. Our team includes camera verification with hydro jetting service when appropriate and offers it as an addition to cable cleaning when the situation warrants the extra step.
Locating equipment paired with the camera transforms inspection findings from general observations into precise location information that supports targeted repair planning. The transmitter built into the camera head sends a signal that surface locators detect with high accuracy. Mapping the position of identified problems shows where excavation or other repair work needs to focus for efficient response. Depth measurements indicate how far down to dig for buried pipe repair work, which affects both planning and pricing of any follow-up service. The combination of camera findings and precise location data eliminates the guesswork that older diagnostic methods required when problems needed addressing. Repair planning becomes straightforward once specific conditions and locations are documented through professional inspection. Cost estimates for repair work become more accurate when based on known conditions rather than estimates for unknown scope and unclear locations. Property owners make informed decisions about timing and approach when they have complete information from inspection work. Sharing locating information with other parties involved in the property supports clear communication about what needs attention and where. Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter provides locating with every camera inspection as standard practice rather than charging separately for this essential service.
Findings interpretation deserves attention because raw camera footage means little without the experience to understand what specific conditions indicate about overall system health. Tree root intrusion at one joint may be a minor issue or a sign of broader pipe deterioration depending on context. Mineral scale buildup looks alarming on camera but may be normal accumulation that does not require immediate response. Cracks visible in the pipe may be cosmetic or structural depending on their location and characteristics. Joint conditions in older clay tile lines vary widely in significance based on the specific situation. Our team brings nearly two decades of inspection experience to interpreting findings rather than just describing what the camera shows. Honest assessment includes acknowledging when conditions warrant immediate response and when they represent normal aging that can be monitored over time. Some inspection findings drive urgent repair recommendations, while others support continued maintenance with periodic re-inspection. The recommendations we provide reflect actual significance of findings rather than pushing every observation toward expensive follow-up work. Customers deserve straight answers about what they are seeing in the inspection footage we deliver.

Why Hiring a Licensed Plumber for Sewer Line Inspection Matters in Burleson
Sewer line inspection sounds simple, yet interpreting the footage correctly requires real plumbing knowledge. Licensed plumbers in Texas train on pipe materials, joint types, flow dynamics, and the structural conditions that affect underground lines. Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter has carried a Texas plumbing license since 2007, giving Burleson customers verified, accountable inspections. A licensed professional distinguishes a minor root intrusion from a collapsing pipe, which changes the repair path significantly. Unlicensed inspectors often misread bellies, mistake scale for damage, or miss critical defects entirely. Licensed plumbers also recognize when an inspection signals broader system issues, such as failing cleanouts, improper venting, or grade problems. Texas plumbing code addresses sewer pipe materials, cleanout placement, and connection standards that all factor into accurate assessment. Our crew respects those standards on every job. Liability coverage protects your property during the inspection process. Honest reporting with video documentation comes standard with our service. Accurate diagnosis prevents unnecessary excavation, saving thousands in repairs that may not have been needed. Choosing a licensed plumber like Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter means the inspection delivers real answers and a clear path forward.
Most Common Sewer Line Inspection Questions
Sewer line inspections raise questions for homeowners considering the service for various situations. Below are the questions Burleson homeowners ask most often about camera inspections.
A sewer line inspection uses a specialized camera mounted on a flexible push cable to visually examine the interior of drainage piping. The camera threads through the line from accessible entry points like cleanouts, with a monitor showing real-time video of pipe conditions. Lighting built into the camera head illuminates the interior so video clearly shows the pipe surfaces, joints, and any conditions present inside. Recording capability captures the inspection for later review and documentation purposes.
The inspection process examines the full accessible length of the line being inspected. Operators move the camera carefully through the pipe while observing the monitor for any conditions that warrant attention. Stopping at points of interest allows detailed examination of specific findings. Identifying tree roots, accumulated debris, scale buildup, structural damage, and other conditions happens through careful observation supported by professional experience interpreting what the camera shows.
Locating equipment used during inspection identifies the exact position of any findings on the surface above the line. Mapping the inspection results gives homeowners and contractors precise information about what conditions exist and exactly where they are located. This information supports targeted repair planning and accurate cost estimates for any follow-up work. The complete inspection package includes video recording, locating data, and a verbal or written summary of findings.
Sewer line inspection costs are modest compared to the value of accurate diagnostic information for major plumbing decisions. Most residential inspections fall in a reasonable price range that depends on the line length, access conditions, and any special requirements. Inspections combined with other plumbing service often qualify for combined pricing that saves compared to separate visits. We provide flat-rate pricing upfront so customers know costs before authorizing the work.
Real estate transaction inspections typically cost the same as routine diagnostic inspections, though some situations involve additional requirements that affect pricing. Locate-only services for already-known pipe routes cost less than full inspections. Combined inspection and cleaning service often delivers more value than either service alone because the cleaning typically reveals conditions worth documenting and the camera verifies cleaning thoroughness.
Several factors can affect inspection cost in specific situations. Difficult access requiring fixture removal or alternative entry points adds setup time. Extended line lengths beyond typical residential service take more inspection time. Locating service to mark identified problems for later repair adds modest cost but provides essential information for any follow-up work. Recorded video copy provision is typically included with our standard inspection service. Quotes always come before work begins so customers can make informed decisions.
Several situations warrant sewer line inspection. Home purchases benefit significantly from inspection because aging sewer systems can represent substantial future costs that buyers should understand before closing. Recurring drain problems where standard cleaning has not produced lasting results often trace to underlying structural issues that camera inspection identifies. Properties with mature trees near sewer lines deserve periodic inspection for root intrusion that develops over years of growth.
Older homes with aging plumbing materials benefit from baseline inspections that document current condition. Cast iron drainage piping, clay tile sewer lines, and galvanized drain pipes all have their own failure patterns that inspection identifies. Homes built before 1980 typically have at least some piping materials that benefit from periodic inspection as they age beyond their original expected service life. Insurance considerations sometimes drive inspection decisions when carriers want documentation of system condition.
Routine maintenance inspections every few years catch developing issues before they become emergencies. The cost of periodic inspection is modest compared to the cost of emergency response after problems become serious. Documentation of system condition over time supports informed decisions about repair timing, system replacement, and overall property maintenance. Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter offers maintenance plans that include scheduled inspections for homeowners who want proactive monitoring of their drainage systems.
Camera inspections reveal a wide range of conditions inside sewer and drain lines. Tree root intrusion is one of the most common findings, with roots entering through cracks or joint failures and growing into dense mats that block flow. Accumulated debris including grease buildup in kitchen lines, sediment in main sewer lines, and various flushed items shows up clearly during inspection. Structural problems including cracks, broken pipe sections, offset joints, and collapsed sections become visible through the camera.
Bellied or sagging pipe sections that trap water and debris show up as low spots where water collects between higher sections. The camera passes through belly sections but the standing water often visible inside reveals the condition. Improper pipe sizing or transition issues sometimes become apparent through inspection. Material deterioration in cast iron pipes, clay tile failures, and other age-related conditions show up clearly in modern camera footage.
Some conditions affect drainage even though they may not look dramatic in inspection footage. Mineral scale buildup gradually narrows pipe bore in some applications, reducing flow capacity without producing dramatic visual symptoms. Slight pipe pitch problems can create chronic flow issues that camera inspection helps identify. Cross-connections between drain lines that should be separate sometimes show up during careful inspection. Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter brings the experience to interpret inspection findings accurately rather than overstating or missing important conditions.
A typical residential sewer line inspection takes between one and two hours from arrival to completion. Setup includes locating the access cleanout, preparing equipment, and confirming the inspection scope with the homeowner. The actual inspection portion takes 30 minutes to an hour for most residential main lines depending on the line length and any conditions requiring detailed examination. Locating identified problems for repair planning adds time but provides essential information.
Documentation including video copies and verbal summary of findings happens at the conclusion of the visit. Some inspections involve more detailed reports for real estate transactions or insurance purposes. The complete inspection package leaves the homeowner with documentation supporting whatever decisions follow from the findings. Multiple lines requiring inspection during the same visit naturally take longer than single-line work but benefit from combined setup efficiency.
Complex situations occasionally extend inspection time beyond typical ranges. Difficult access conditions, extensive findings requiring detailed examination, and properties with multiple inspection needs all add to the time required. Our team takes the time needed to deliver thorough inspection rather than rushing through to meet artificial schedules. Realistic time estimates during scheduling help homeowners plan their day appropriately. Patience produces better diagnostic information than rushing.
Camera inspections are non-invasive and do not damage pipes in good condition. The camera and push cable are designed for repeated use through residential drain lines without affecting pipe integrity. Modern equipment handles typical drain configurations including bends, traps, and various pipe materials without difficulty. The flexibility of the push cable allows the camera to navigate normal pipe routing without forcing.
Some situations require careful navigation to avoid issues. Aging clay tile lines with weakened joints, severely corroded cast iron pipes, and damaged pipe sections deserve careful handling during inspection. Experienced operators recognize fragile conditions and adjust their approach accordingly. Forcing the camera through significant obstructions or damaged sections can occasionally cause additional damage, which is why professional operators understand when to stop and recommend alternative approaches.
Combined services like inspection following drain cleaning sometimes reveal pipe conditions that the cleaning could not have caused. The camera shows preexisting conditions like cracks and joint failures that may have contributed to the original problem requiring cleaning. Documentation of these findings supports honest communication about what existed before any plumbing work began. Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter uses professional equipment and experienced operators throughout Burleson and surrounding communities. The inspection itself adds value without adding risk to the existing plumbing system.
Sewer inspection and drain cleaning are different services that often work well together but serve distinct purposes. Inspection examines pipe condition without changing it, providing diagnostic information about what exists inside the line. Cleaning removes blockages or buildup that affects drainage performance, addressing existing problems rather than just identifying them. Both services have their place in plumbing service depending on the specific situation.
Combined service involving cleaning followed by camera inspection delivers comprehensive value in many situations. The cleaning removes whatever buildup or blockage exists, restoring normal flow capacity. The inspection then documents the underlying pipe condition that becomes visible once debris is cleared. This combination identifies conditions that would have been hidden behind accumulated material during inspection alone. Documentation of post-cleaning condition supports both immediate decisions and future comparison.
Inspection alone makes sense when the goal is purely diagnostic, such as home purchase evaluation or assessment of an older system without current problems. Cleaning alone may be appropriate for clear maintenance situations where the underlying pipe condition is already known. The choice between approaches depends on the homeowner’s specific goals and the situation at the property. Our team helps customers determine which service or combination best fits their needs rather than pushing one approach universally. Honest recommendations consider what will actually serve the homeowner.
Yes, video copies of inspections are typically provided as standard service. The recorded footage shows the complete inspection from start to finish, allowing the homeowner to review findings, share with other parties, and keep for property records. Modern equipment records video in formats compatible with common devices and software for easy viewing and sharing.
Video documentation supports multiple uses beyond just personal reference. Real estate transactions often involve sharing inspection footage between buyers, sellers, and their respective agents during negotiations. Insurance claims may benefit from video documentation of conditions that contributed to damage events. Home improvement loans or refinancing sometimes involve documentation of system condition. Future plumbing service can reference baseline inspection footage when assessing changes in pipe condition over time.
Some homeowners share inspection videos with friends or family interested in the property condition or considering similar service for their own homes. Educational value of seeing inside plumbing systems appeals to many people curious about how their home works. Our team includes video documentation with standard inspection service rather than charging extra for what should be a normal deliverable.
