Dependable Sewer Line Repair Service in Burleson, TX
Sewage odors near the foundation, repeat drain backups, and unusually green patches of grass over the line all signal a sewer that needs hands-on attention. Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter repairs sewer lines throughout Burleson, TX, with the diagnostics and equipment these jobs actually require. Our team begins every call with a camera scope, since seeing the failure point is far more effective than digging based on guesswork. The footage reveals whether the line is dealing with a cracked section, a root intrusion at a joint, a belly holding standing water, or a collapse that blocks flow entirely. Older Burleson neighborhoods built with clay tile or cast iron tend to show predictable failure patterns, while newer PVC lines usually fail at improperly bedded sections or careless tie-ins. We mark the defect location above ground using the camera’s built-in locator, then plan the smallest excavation needed to reach it. Spot repairs work well when the rest of the line remains structurally sound, replacing only the damaged section with matching pipe and proper couplings. Tree root issues are addressed at the source, since cutting roots without sealing the joint guarantees a return visit within a year or two. Larger failures call for full section replacement or, in some cases, a conversation about trenchless options versus traditional excavation. Cleanouts are added or upgraded where access has been lacking, which makes future maintenance dramatically easier. Permits and inspections are coordinated when required by Burleson regulations. Backfill is compacted in lifts to protect the repair from settling pressures down the road. Pricing is shared in straightforward terms before any digging begins, and disturbed yard areas are restored to a reasonable finish. Since 2007, Burleson families have counted on our crew to handle sewer trouble cleanly and move on.

They were honest, got the work done when they said,at the price they said.Very professional, hard honest workers!
CHRIS & BRODY great team, in/out same day, very professional, very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, clean, clean, clean. Explained steps, Communicated proficiently, let Granny hover, & watch, I'm not easy client for any professional. The only thing I wish warranty was minimum 90 days, but I've used, & trusted 1960's plumbing issues, since 2015. We learned to do both roof top clean outs 100 feet minimum for tree roots backing up toilet paper, we only use cheap Scott very thin toilet paper if we don't want more than 1X year clean out. We are seniors, fixed income, every plumbing emergency comes out of food budget. We eat beans & corn bread when we have plumbing issues. God Bless Curly's BIG BLADE PLUMBING Out of Cleburne, Texas. Denise & Christy answer phones, very polite, always helpful, Denise will get you on schedule as soon as possible, never waited very long especially in sewage backups. I always ask for clean, knowledgeable, experienced plumbers. I don't hesitate to call CURLY'S BIG BLADE PLUMBING.

Huge thank you to Lee and his helper! I had a hose burst on my water heater in the early morning. Big Blade was able to send a crew out fast and get the hose replaced.
Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter came out to fix an incoming water line that was leaking in between two bushes. The previous company had quoted a higher price and wanted to remove the bushes and replace the shut off valve, which was still good. Big Blade Plumbing fixed the leak for a much cheaper price and didn’t remove any bushes. For that I give them 5 Stars.
Absolutely one of the best out there! You cannot go wrong using Big Blade, they are awesome.
The price they quoted was the price we paid. No hidden fees! Quality work at a fair price! Professional and courteous!
After having a different company come out and price gouge me and calling around I couldn’t find anybody to help me with my clogged line, I was parked at a gas station and saw BIG BLADE truck drive by so I got out my phone and called, I was greeted on the phone by Denise who was extremely polite and professional, with no high pressure in setting the appointment. The price was extremely fair and affordable so we went ahead and booked an appointment, Hershel and Dylan arrived promptly like within 30-40 minutes of us calling and setting the appointment, they got here and did exactly what they said they were going to without pressuring me into getting other services they executed the repair so fast and explained to me about my 30 day warranty and potential risks to look out for in the future! I would HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND using this service. Amazing job thank you guys so much for you’re help and relieving me of all the stress that comes with plumbing difficulties!

Sewer Line Repair Service
Identifying the exact cause and location of a sewer problem is the foundation of every effective repair we perform, because guessing produces inadequate fixes that fail again quickly and frustrate the homeowner. Our plumbers begin with a careful interview about the symptoms that brought us out, including how long the problem has existed, which fixtures are affected, what triggers the worst issues, and any history of sewer service or maintenance on the property over recent years. Camera inspection through the cleanout or other access points provides direct visual evidence of conditions inside the line that no other diagnostic method can match. The footage shows whether the problem involves root intrusion, structural damage, accumulated debris, pipe deterioration, or some combination of factors that affect drainage performance. Locating equipment paired with the camera marks the exact position and depth of identified problems for repair planning without exploratory excavation. Documentation of findings supports both the repair plan and any insurance claims that may follow the work. Sharing inspection results with the homeowner in clear language helps everyone understand what needs to happen and why specific repairs are recommended. The diagnostic phase often takes significant time but pays back through accurate repair scoping that addresses actual conditions rather than guesses. Skipping or shortcutting diagnosis leads to repairs that miss the real problem and leave homeowners with continued issues after the work supposedly finishes.
Tree root intrusion accounts for a substantial share of sewer repair needs in Burleson and surrounding areas with mature trees near drainage lines. Roots seek out the moisture and nutrients in sewer pipes, exploiting any small crack or joint failure to enter the line where they then thrive. Once inside, roots multiply rapidly and create dense mats that catch flushed material and cause backups throughout the home affecting every drain connected to the line. Camera inspection shows root locations precisely and reveals whether the underlying pipe damage is minor or extensive at each entry point. Spot repairs to seal small root entry points can extend pipe life when the rest of the line is sound and roots have entered through limited locations. More extensive root damage often requires section replacement or full pipe replacement depending on the scope of the problem and the condition of surrounding pipe. Some homeowners with chronic root issues choose to manage the problem with regular professional cleaning rather than invest in repair, particularly when other parts of the line are showing wear that suggests broader replacement makes sense soon. Both approaches are valid when made with accurate information about current pipe condition and likely future trajectory. Our team presents options openly so the homeowner makes informed decisions about the right path forward.
Structural pipe damage from settlement, age, or external forces creates more serious problems than root intrusion in many cases and warrants careful diagnosis. Bellied or sagging pipe sections develop when supporting soil washes away or compacts unevenly, creating low spots that trap water and debris that no cleaning can address permanently. The bellied sections cannot be cleaned permanently because the underlying drainage problem continues regardless of how thoroughly debris is removed from the immediate area. Repair requires either correcting the bedding under the existing pipe or replacing the affected section at proper grade with new bedding underneath. Cracked or broken pipe sections allow soil infiltration, root entry, and groundwater intrusion that progressively worsen the condition over time. Collapsed pipes block drainage entirely and require immediate repair or replacement to restore service before water damage develops inside the home. Offset joints where pipe sections have separated create both flow problems and entry points for roots and debris that compound over time. Each type of structural damage requires different repair approaches that match the specific condition discovered during diagnosis. Our team explains the options for each situation and presents the tradeoffs in cost, disruption, and expected longevity that affect the repair decision.
Spot repairs work well when the rest of the line is in sound condition and the damage is localized to a specific section that can be addressed cleanly. The repair process begins with excavating to expose the damaged section, with careful planning that minimizes total disruption to the property and protects nearby utilities. The damaged pipe gets cut out cleanly using appropriate tools that produce square cut ends suitable for new joining without damage to remaining pipe. Replacement pipe matching the existing material and diameter splices into the line with approved fittings rated for buried service in the specific soil conditions present. Coupling fittings handle the connections between old and new pipe, with appropriate gaskets or solvent welding depending on the materials involved at the connection points. Bedding around the repair zone uses clean sand or pea gravel that supports the pipe uniformly without point loading from rocks. Backfill in lifts with appropriate compaction prevents surface settling above the repair that creates problems months later. The completed repair gets pressure or flow testing to verify integrity before the trench is closed permanently. Spot repairs done well can extend the useful life of a sewer system for many years without the cost and disruption of full replacement work.
Trenchless repair methods provide alternatives to traditional excavation for many situations that suit the techniques. Pipe bursting replaces an entire damaged line by pulling a bursting head through the existing pipe while simultaneously installing a new pipe in its place along the same general route. The old pipe fractures outward into the surrounding soil and the new pipe occupies the same general route, eliminating most surface disruption above the line. Access pits at the start and end of the run handle the equipment and connections, with the bulk of the line replaced without continuous excavation across the property. Cured-in-place lining inserts a flexible liner into the existing pipe and cures it into a new internal surface that seals leaks and restores flow throughout the affected section. The lining adds slight thickness to the pipe wall but creates a continuous new surface within the existing pipe that resists future root intrusion. Each method has specific requirements for pipe condition, access space, and material compatibility that our team evaluates during assessment before recommending the approach. Trenchless methods typically cost more per foot than open excavation but often save money overall when surface restoration costs are included in the total project budget. Mature trees, hardscape, and decorative landscaping can frequently be preserved entirely with trenchless work.
Restoration after sewer repair work matters significantly to the homeowner even though it happens after the actual plumbing work completes and the immediate problem is resolved. Backfill placement in lifts with appropriate compaction prevents the surface settling that often plagues poorly restored excavation sites for years afterward. Native soil gets screened to remove rocks and debris before being returned to the trench, particularly in the layer directly above the bedding material protecting the pipe. Sod replacement uses original pieces when they can be preserved during excavation, with replacement sod or seeding handling areas where original material was damaged beyond reuse. Irrigation systems damaged during the work get repaired or replaced as part of the project scope rather than left for the homeowner to address separately at additional cost. Concrete patches, paver work, and driveway repairs coordinate with qualified subcontractors when those surfaces had to be cut for access during the project. The site gets left clean with debris hauled away properly, the work area swept smooth, and the surrounding landscape returned to as close to original condition as practical given the work that was needed. Tracer wire and marker tape installed during the repair help future technicians find the line without unnecessary exploratory digging. Final walkthrough with the homeowner confirms everything meets expectations before the project closes out and the crew leaves the site.
Long-term success of any sewer repair depends on factors beyond just the immediate work performed during the project itself. Material selection for new pipe sections affects how long the repair lasts and how it interacts with the remaining original pipe in the line. Joint integrity at connections between old and new pipe is critical because these transition points often face the highest stress during normal operation over the years that follow. Bedding quality below the repair zone determines whether the new pipe sits at proper grade or develops bellies of its own from soil settlement. Backfill compaction throughout the affected trench length prevents both surface problems above and stress on the pipe below from uneven loading. Cleanout placement and access for future service supports easier maintenance over the years to come. Documentation of the repair including materials, location, and inspection records becomes part of the property record for future reference. Periodic camera inspection of repaired lines confirms the work continues performing as intended and catches any developing issues early. Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter approaches every sewer repair as work that should last decades rather than just provide short-term relief.

Why Hiring a Licensed Plumber for Sewer Line Repair Matters in Burleson
Sewer line repair involves excavation, code compliance, and decisions that affect the long-term health of your plumbing system. Licensed plumbers in Texas train on pipe materials, joint methods, slope requirements, and the proper way to integrate repairs into existing lines. Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter has carried a Texas plumbing license since 2007, giving Burleson customers verified, accountable workmanship. A licensed professional reads camera footage accurately, distinguishing between repairable damage and sections that require full replacement. Unlicensed sewer repairs often patch over symptoms, use mismatched fittings, or create new bellies that lead to chronic backups. Licensed plumbers also follow proper bedding, slope, and backfill procedures that protect the repaired section for the long haul. Texas plumbing code addresses pipe materials, cleanout placement, and tie-in standards for important safety reasons. Our crew respects every requirement on every job. Liability and bonding coverage protects your yard, foundation, and surrounding utilities during excavation. Permits and inspections preserve your insurance coverage and document the work for future buyers. Honest reporting with video evidence comes standard with our service. Choosing a licensed plumber like Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter means the repair holds and the sewer system serves your home for years.
Most Common Sewer Line Repair Questions
Sewer line problems create urgent situations that raise difficult questions for homeowners. Below are the questions Burleson homeowners ask most often when sewer trouble appears.
Several signs indicate sewer line problems that need professional attention. Multiple drains backing up simultaneously throughout the home points to main line issues rather than fixture-specific clogs. Gurgling sounds from drains when other fixtures are used signal venting or main line problems. Foul odors from drains or in the yard suggest sewer issues affecting the system. Slow drainage at multiple fixtures, particularly when combined with other symptoms, often indicates main line problems.
Yard signs sometimes reveal sewer line problems before symptoms appear inside the home. Unexplained wet spots in the yard that persist during dry weather suggest underground leaks. Lush green grass patches in otherwise normal turf often grow above buried leaks that provide constant moisture and nutrients. Sinkholes or surface depressions indicate water has been washing away supporting soil over time. Foul odors in the yard sometimes point to sewer line failures that have not yet caused indoor problems.
Recurring backups despite professional cleaning service usually indicate underlying structural problems rather than just maintenance needs. Lines requiring cleaning every few months point to root intrusion, pipe damage, or other issues that cleaning alone cannot resolve. Our team performs camera inspection to identify the actual cause of recurring problems and recommends appropriate repairs rather than just continued cleaning. Acting on symptoms promptly limits damage and prevents the emergencies that develop when sewer problems are ignored too long.
Sewer line repair costs vary significantly based on the type and location of the problem, the chosen repair method, and the access conditions at the property. Spot repairs in accessible locations fall at the lower end of the price range. Repairs requiring deeper excavation, work under hardscape, or extensive restoration cost more because of the additional labor involved. Trenchless repairs typically cost more per foot than open excavation but often save money overall when surface restoration is factored in.
Permit fees and inspection costs add to total project price in most repair situations. The City of Burleson and surrounding municipalities require permits for sewer work including repair, and inspection verifies code compliance before final approval. We include all anticipated municipal costs in upfront quotes so there are no surprises during the project. Coordination with city utilities for repairs involving municipal connections may add fees depending on the specific requirements.
Major repairs requiring substantial replacement or extensive trenchless work represent significant investments that reflect the scope of work involved. We provide flat-rate pricing after thorough assessment so customers know costs before authorizing any work. Financing options are available for qualified customers when repair costs exceed comfortable cash outlay. Transparent pricing reflects how we have operated since 2007. The cost of professional repair is always less than the cost of ignored problems that develop into emergencies.
Tree root intrusion is one of the most common causes of sewer problems in Burleson and surrounding areas with mature landscaping. Roots seek the moisture and nutrients inside sewer pipes, entering through small cracks or joint failures and growing into dense mats inside the pipe. Once roots establish themselves, they multiply rapidly and create both immediate blockages and ongoing damage to the pipe structure.
Pipe age and material deterioration cause many sewer problems in older homes. Cast iron sewer lines develop internal corrosion over decades that thins pipe walls and creates rough surfaces catching debris. Clay tile sewer lines, common in some older neighborhoods, develop joint failures that allow root entry and other problems. Galvanized drain lines sometimes used in older homes face their own deterioration patterns. Each material has its expected service life that eventually requires replacement regardless of maintenance.
Settlement and ground movement stress sewer lines over time in the expansive clay soil common across our service area. Foundation movement can damage pipes that pass under or near foundations. Soil washing from drainage problems or other water sources can undermine pipe support and create bellied sections. Construction activity near pipes occasionally causes damage that emerges as problems later. Tree planting near existing sewer lines creates future root intrusion risks as trees mature. Our team identifies causes during repair work to inform recommendations about repair scope and any preventive measures that would protect the system going forward.
Trenchless sewer repair methods provide alternatives to traditional excavation for many situations. Pipe bursting replaces an entire damaged sewer line by pulling a bursting head through the existing pipe while installing a new pipe in its place. The old pipe fractures outward into surrounding soil while the new pipe occupies the same general route. Only small access pits at the start and end of the run require excavation, preserving most of the surface above the line.
Cured-in-place lining inserts a flexible liner into the existing pipe and cures it into a new internal surface. The lining seals cracks, root entry points, and joint failures while restoring smooth flow capacity. The technique works for situations where the existing pipe is generally sound but has localized issues throughout its length. Access through cleanouts allows the lining process without significant excavation.
Each trenchless method has specific requirements that affect feasibility. Pipe bursting requires reasonably straight pipe paths and appropriate soil conditions for the bursting process. Cured-in-place lining works for pipes with structural integrity sufficient to support the cured liner. Some situations are not candidates for trenchless work, particularly severely collapsed pipes or unusual routing problems. Our team evaluates every project for trenchless suitability and presents both traditional and trenchless options when both are feasible. Honest assessment includes saying directly when traditional excavation is the better answer for the specific situation.
A typical spot repair on a residential sewer line takes between one and two days from initial work to backfill completion. The actual repair work after access is established often completes in a few hours, but excavation, testing, backfill, and surface restoration add to total time. Trenchless repairs sometimes complete in a single day with the buried work done quickly even when connection work extends timing.
Major repairs or complete replacements naturally take longer. Full sewer line replacement using open trenching can take three to five days depending on length, depth, and conditions. Trenchless replacement using pipe bursting typically completes the buried portion in a single day, with connection work sometimes extending into a second day. Restoration work after the plumbing portion sometimes extends total project completion by several days when hardscape patching or extensive landscape work is involved.
Permit processing and inspection scheduling can affect overall timing on any sewer repair project. Inspections at different project phases coordinate with inspector availability. Weather and ground conditions occasionally extend timelines, particularly during periods of heavy rain or unusual cold. Realistic timelines come from initial planning rather than optimistic estimates designed to win the job. Communication during the project keeps homeowners informed about progress and any developments that affect timing.
Traditional sewer repair using open excavation creates some surface disruption that requires restoration after the plumbing work completes. The trench above the repair location gets excavated to expose the affected pipe, with the surface restored after the work completes. Mature landscaping, hardscape features, and other surface elements above or near the repair area may need attention during the project.
Modern restoration practices minimize lasting damage from sewer repair work. Backfill in lifts with appropriate compaction prevents surface settling that creates depressions. Sod replacement uses preserved pieces when possible. Hardscape patching coordinates with qualified subcontractors who specialize in concrete and paver work. Our team handles restoration to plumbing standards and recommends restoration contractors for finished surface work that falls outside our scope.
Trenchless repair methods dramatically reduce surface disruption when applicable. Pipe bursting and directional methods preserve most of the surface above the line, leaving only small access pits at the start and end of the work. Driveways, sidewalks, paver patios, decorative gardens, mature trees, and irrigation systems can frequently be preserved entirely. The choice between trenchless and traditional excavation considers surface restoration costs alongside the actual plumbing work. Some homeowners gladly pay the trenchless premium to protect valuable surface features.
Sewer line repair addresses specific damaged sections while preserving the rest of the line in service. Spot repairs replace small sections that have failed, restore proper grade in bellied areas, or seal entry points where roots have entered. The repair scope depends entirely on the actual problem and the condition of the surrounding pipe. Repairs make sense when the rest of the line is in good condition and the failure is localized.
Sewer line replacement removes the entire existing line and installs new pipe to replace it. Replacement makes sense when the existing pipe has reached end of life, when multiple repair points along the same line suggest broader failure, or when the existing material has known reliability problems. Polybutylene drain lines, severely corroded cast iron, and aging clay tile with widespread joint failures often warrant replacement rather than continued repair.
The repair-versus-replace decision considers multiple factors including the age and condition of existing pipe, the cost difference between repair and replacement, the homeowner’s long-term plans for the property, and the available repair methods. Camera inspection provides objective evidence about current pipe condition that supports informed decisions. Our team presents options openly so homeowners choose the path that best serves their situation. Sometimes spot repair is exactly the right answer, while other situations clearly warrant full replacement. The honest path depends on specific conditions rather than universal recommendations.
Tree management around sewer lines reduces root intrusion risks significantly. Avoiding planting trees near known sewer line routes prevents the future problems mature roots create. Removing existing trees in high-risk locations sometimes makes sense when sewer service issues become recurring. Root barriers installed between existing trees and sewer lines can reduce intrusion in some situations. Knowing where the sewer line runs supports landscape decisions that protect drainage.
Mindful use of drains and toilets prevents many sewer problems before they start. Avoiding flushing items that should not enter the drain system reduces the most common blockage causes. Disposing of grease, fats, and oils properly rather than pouring them down kitchen drains protects against the buildup that causes major problems. Educating household members about appropriate drain use prevents the habits that create chronic clogging issues.
Periodic professional service catches developing problems before they become emergencies. Annual camera inspection on older properties documents pipe condition and identifies issues while they remain manageable. Hydro jetting on schedule maintains drainage capacity by removing buildup that gradually accumulates. Tree management combined with regular service often prevents the major repairs that would otherwise become necessary. Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter offers maintenance plans that include scheduled inspection and service for homeowners who want proactive protection of their drainage systems.
