Our Service
Dependable Repiping Service in Burleson, TX
Older Burleson homes often run on galvanized steel or polybutylene lines that corrode, restrict flow, and eventually fail. Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter completes full repiping projects throughout Burleson, TX, replacing those aging systems with PEX or copper. Our team starts with a walkthrough of every fixture, supply route, and access point in the house. We plan the new layout to minimize wall openings, protect finished surfaces, and keep the project on a clear schedule. PEX offers flexibility, freeze resistance, and fast installation, while copper provides proven longevity for customers who prefer it. Hot and cold supply lines, fixture branches, and main service lines all get replaced during a full repipe. We isolate work zones so most of the home keeps water service during the project. Pressure testing confirms every joint holds tight before drywall repairs begin. Manifolds with individual shut-offs improve future maintenance and isolate fixtures during repairs. Discolored water, low pressure, frequent pinhole leaks, and rusty stains all point to a system ready for repiping. Pricing is shared clearly before any work begins. Since 2007, Burleson families have trusted our crew to deliver clean, lasting plumbing rebuilds.

They were honest, got the work done when they said,at the price they said.Very professional, hard honest workers!
CHRIS & BRODY great team, in/out same day, very professional, very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, clean, clean, clean. Explained steps, Communicated proficiently, let Granny hover, & watch, I'm not easy client for any professional. The only thing I wish warranty was minimum 90 days, but I've used, & trusted 1960's plumbing issues, since 2015. We learned to do both roof top clean outs 100 feet minimum for tree roots backing up toilet paper, we only use cheap Scott very thin toilet paper if we don't want more than 1X year clean out. We are seniors, fixed income, every plumbing emergency comes out of food budget. We eat beans & corn bread when we have plumbing issues. God Bless Curly's BIG BLADE PLUMBING Out of Cleburne, Texas. Denise & Christy answer phones, very polite, always helpful, Denise will get you on schedule as soon as possible, never waited very long especially in sewage backups. I always ask for clean, knowledgeable, experienced plumbers. I don't hesitate to call CURLY'S BIG BLADE PLUMBING.
Very good experience! Everyone that I encountered from this organization was kind and helpful from the lady that answered the phone to the plumber and his helper who did the job. I was scheduled promptly. They called and gave me the time that he would arrive. The job was done quickly and professionally by a Master plumber. They also left things clean and showed me how things work ed. I will use them again when I have plumbing needs.
I had a great experience with Curly’s Big Blade Plumbing installing my new water heater. The team was professional, on time, and clearly knew what they were doing. They explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and made sure the job was done right the first time. The installation was clean and efficient, and they left the area spotless when they were finished. Highly recommend them if you’re looking for reliable and honest plumbing work!

Big Blade did a great job for me. They came quickly and completed everything with good quality. They also offered good advice on some minor chages that will make a difference going forward.
Huge thank you to Lee and his helper! I had a hose burst on my water heater in the early morning. Big Blade was able to send a crew out fast and get the hose replaced.
Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter came out to fix an incoming water line that was leaking in between two bushes. The previous company had quoted a higher price and wanted to remove the bushes and replace the shut off valve, which was still good. Big Blade Plumbing fixed the leak for a much cheaper price and didn’t remove any bushes. For that I give them 5 Stars.
Absolutely one of the best out there! You cannot go wrong using Big Blade, they are awesome.
The price they quoted was the price we paid. No hidden fees! Quality work at a fair price! Professional and courteous!
After having a different company come out and price gouge me and calling around I couldn’t find anybody to help me with my clogged line, I was parked at a gas station and saw BIG BLADE truck drive by so I got out my phone and called, I was greeted on the phone by Denise who was extremely polite and professional, with no high pressure in setting the appointment. The price was extremely fair and affordable so we went ahead and booked an appointment, Hershel and Dylan arrived promptly like within 30-40 minutes of us calling and setting the appointment, they got here and did exactly what they said they were going to without pressuring me into getting other services they executed the repair so fast and explained to me about my 30 day warranty and potential risks to look out for in the future! I would HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND using this service. Amazing job thank you guys so much for you’re help and relieving me of all the stress that comes with plumbing difficulties!

COMPLETED SERVICE CALLS
Repiping Service
Deciding to repipe is rarely a decision homeowners make casually, and our process is built to give the property owner everything needed to make that call with confidence rather than under pressure. The evaluation begins with a thorough conversation about the symptoms that prompted the call, including recent leaks, water quality concerns, pressure problems, age-related worries, or recommendations from real estate inspections during a recent sale or refinance. Visible inspection of accessible piping at the water heater, under sinks, in mechanical rooms, and in attics or crawl spaces reveals the current material and observable condition. Pressure testing at multiple fixtures identifies flow restrictions that often signal internal corrosion in metallic pipes throughout the system. Water testing for color, taste, mineral content, and overall quality provides additional information about how the existing piping affects daily life in the home. The age of the home, construction era, and any documentation about prior plumbing work all inform our assessment of remaining service life. Documentation from past leak incidents or plumbing service helps establish patterns that suggest system-wide rather than isolated problems. We share findings openly with the homeowner so the decision is based on actual conditions rather than vague concerns or scare tactics designed to drive sales. Most homes built before 1970 with original galvanized piping are candidates for repipe regardless of current symptoms because the material has typically reached end of life.
Material selection for the new system deserves careful thought because the replacement piping will serve the home for decades after the work completes. PEX-A has become the leading choice for repipe projects because its flexibility allows installation through existing walls with minimum demolition. The material handles freeze events better than copper because it can expand slightly when water inside freezes during hard freeze conditions. Long continuous runs without buried joints eliminate the connection points where leaks typically develop over time. Type L copper remains a strong option for homeowners who prefer traditional metallic piping with proven longevity over many decades of field service. Copper installations cost more in both materials and labor because soldered joints take longer than the mechanical connections used with PEX. CPVC offers another approved option for water supply piping that works well in many situations and costs less than copper installations typically run. Each material has specific fittings, support requirements, and code provisions that must be followed precisely for reliable installation. Our team explains the practical differences between options during planning so homeowners select based on real information rather than marketing claims. The right material depends on the specific home, water chemistry, budget, and homeowner preferences rather than any one material being universally best for every situation.
Planning the repipe carefully before any walls open up minimizes the disruption and damage the project creates throughout the home. Our plumbers map the existing system to understand where current piping runs and identify the most efficient path for new lines. New piping does not necessarily follow the exact route of existing pipes because PEX flexibility allows different routing options that may serve the home better. Strategic access points through walls, ceilings, and crawl spaces are planned to minimize total finished surface damage during the work. Attic access often provides the easiest path for distribution piping in many home designs that have accessible attic spaces. Crawl space access works well for homes with that configuration where the space allows reasonable working room. Slab homes present particular challenges because some piping may run through the concrete that cannot be replaced without major work. Many slab repipes route new piping through walls and attics to abandon the slab-embedded sections rather than breaking through concrete unnecessarily. Each home presents its own routing challenges that our team works through with the property owner before any cuts are made. The detailed plan supports both efficient installation and minimum restoration work afterward.
Executing the repipe work happens in phases that minimize the time the home goes without water service. Setup includes covering floors and furnishings with protective materials, marking access points clearly, and staging materials for efficient installation throughout the project. Access cuts are made carefully with appropriate tools that minimize damage to surrounding finished surfaces wherever possible. New piping installs through the planned routes with proper support spacing, appropriate fittings, and code-compliant techniques throughout the work. Connections to existing fixtures use approved transition fittings that handle the change from old to new materials safely and reliably. Water service stays on through most of the repipe work, with shutoffs scheduled around final connection points to minimize total outage duration for the household. Most homes have water restored each evening even during multi-day repipe projects, which preserves normal household routine as much as possible. Pressure testing each section before closing access cuts verifies installation quality at every phase. The repipe progresses through the home systematically rather than attempting all areas simultaneously. Documentation of each phase supports the overall project quality.
Pressure testing every section of new piping before walls and ceilings close in protects the homeowner from problems that would otherwise emerge after restoration work has covered access points. The new installation pressurizes to test pressure that exceeds normal operating pressure by a significant margin during the verification phase. Test pressure holds for a defined period while every joint, fitting, and length of pipe is monitored for any sign of pressure loss or visible leakage. Visible inspection during pressure holding catches small problems before they grow into damage causes after the work completes. Pressure drops during the test indicate problems that must be located and corrected before testing can continue to passing conclusion. Each access area gets its own pressure test rather than waiting for the entire system to test as one large unit at the end. Documentation of test results supports the permit record and provides assurance to the homeowner about installation quality. Repeating tests after any corrections confirms the final installation is sound before closing the affected access. We refuse to close up any section that has not passed complete pressure testing regardless of schedule pressure or other factors. Cutting corners on this step creates problems that emerge after restoration covers the affected areas.
Coordination with restoration trades after the plumbing work completes supports the homeowner through the project from start to finish. Repipes typically create wall and ceiling damage that requires drywall repair, texture matching, paint, and sometimes flooring work to restore the home to its previous appearance. Our team can recommend trusted drywall and finish contractors for homeowners who want help finding qualified follow-up trades. Some homeowners prefer to manage restoration themselves to control costs and scheduling according to their own preferences. Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter handles the plumbing portion with clean handoffs to other trades for restoration work that follows. Communication throughout the project keeps everyone informed about timing and access requirements as the work progresses. Documentation of the completed repipe including materials, routing, and inspection results becomes part of the property record for future reference. This paperwork supports future home sales by demonstrating the system age and installation quality to potential buyers. Final walkthrough with the homeowner confirms the new system performs to expectations before the project closes out. Major projects like repipes deserve careful management from start to finish.
Long-term performance considerations shape every decision we make during a repipe project from initial planning to final commissioning. The materials, support, routing, fittings, and connections all affect how the system performs over the decades it will serve the home. Pressure reducing valves at the main entry point protect the entire new system from pressure-related stress that shortens lifespan. Insulation on hot water lines reduces energy waste and supports faster hot water delivery to distant fixtures. Tracer wire installation for any buried portions supports future locating during landscape or construction work. Documentation of the complete installation including materials, routing sketches, and inspection records becomes valuable property documentation for future reference. Water testing during commissioning establishes baseline water quality with the new system in place. Homeowner education about the new system covers basic operation, where to find shutoff valves, and how to identify any issues that might develop over time. Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter treats every repipe as a long-term investment in the home rather than just a major service call. Quality work delivered today serves the home for many decades to come.

Why Hiring a Licensed Plumber for Repiping Matters in Burleson
Repiping is one of the largest plumbing investments a homeowner makes, and the workmanship determines its lifespan. Licensed plumbers in Texas train on material compatibility, sizing calculations, pressure dynamics, and the code rules that govern full system replacements. Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter has held a Texas plumbing license since 2007, giving Burleson residents verified, accountable expertise on every repipe. A licensed professional plans the new layout to balance pressure, reduce noise, and provide easy future access for repairs. Unlicensed repiping often skips permits, uses mismatched fittings, or undersizes branch lines that leave fixtures with weak flow. Licensed plumbers also pressure test the entire system before closing walls, catching issues while access is still available. Texas plumbing code addresses pipe supports, expansion loops, and approved materials that all factor into a quality repipe. Our crew respects every standard on every project. Liability and bonding coverage protects your home throughout the work. Permits and inspections preserve your insurance coverage and add documented value at resale. Honest pricing, clear timelines, and clean job sites come standard with our service. Choosing a licensed plumber like Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter means the repipe is built right and trusted for decades.
Most Common Repiping Questions
Whole-house repiping is a major investment that raises significant questions for homeowners considering the work. Below are the questions Burleson homeowners ask most often before scheduling repipe projects.
A typical whole-house repipe takes between three and seven days depending on home size, the materials chosen, and the access conditions through finished spaces. Smaller homes with reasonable access often complete in three to four days. Larger homes or those with challenging access conditions can extend to a week or more. Multi-story homes typically take longer than single-story homes because of the additional vertical runs and access requirements. The chosen pipe material affects timing somewhat, with PEX installations generally proceeding faster than copper repipes because of the connection differences.
Restoration work after the plumbing portion completes extends total project time significantly. Drywall repair, texture matching, paint, and any flooring work happens after the plumbing crew finishes their work. Restoration timing varies widely based on the extent of access cuts and the homeowner’s preferences for finish work. Some homeowners handle their own restoration to control timing and costs. Others coordinate with drywall and finish contractors directly. Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter can recommend trusted restoration trades when homeowners want help finding qualified follow-up work.
Water service stays on through most of the repipe work despite the major scope. Final connection points create brief outage periods that we schedule to minimize daily disruption. Most homes have water restored each evening during the project. Communication about expected outage timing helps homeowners plan around the work. Realistic timeline estimates are part of every repipe discussion during initial planning. Patience pays off on major projects because rushing creates problems that emerge after restoration covers access points.
Whole-house repipe costs vary significantly based on home size, the material chosen, the layout and access conditions, and the existing material being replaced. PEX repipes generally cost less than copper repipes for the same home because of faster installation and lower material costs. Larger homes naturally cost more than smaller homes because of the additional materials and labor involved. Multi-story homes cost more than single-story homes because of the additional complexity. Slab homes that require pipe rerouting cost more than crawl space or basement homes where access is easier.
We provide flat-rate pricing upfront after thorough assessment of the home. The quote includes all materials, labor, permits, and basic restoration of access points. Restoration of finished surfaces beyond the basic patching is typically handled separately by drywall and finish contractors. Some homeowners choose to manage restoration themselves while others coordinate with our recommended contractors. Either approach works and we adjust our scope accordingly.
Financing options are available for qualified customers because repipes represent significant investments that many homeowners prefer to spread over time. Our office staff can walk through financing options before work begins so homeowners can plan accordingly. The investment in a quality repipe pays back through decades of reliable service, eliminated leak emergencies, and improved water quality. Transparent pricing reflects how we have operated since 2007. Homeowners deserve to know complete costs before committing to major projects like this.
Multiple signs suggest repiping deserves serious consideration. Galvanized steel piping in homes built before 1970 typically reaches end of life regardless of current symptoms because the material corrodes internally over decades. Polybutylene piping installed during the 1980s and early 1990s should be replaced because of documented failure patterns affecting the entire system. Multiple leak events in different parts of the home within a short period indicate widespread system failure rather than isolated problems. Discolored water at fixtures, particularly rust-colored output from older galvanized systems, indicates internal pipe corrosion that worsens over time.
Reduced water pressure throughout the home often signals system-wide flow restriction from accumulated corrosion or scale buildup inside aging pipes. Recurring slow drains and reduced flow at multiple fixtures suggest the supply side problems even when the immediate symptoms appear to involve drainage. Failed home inspections during sales or refinances often flag aging plumbing systems that buyers or lenders require addressing. Insurance considerations sometimes drive repipe decisions when carriers refuse coverage or raise premiums on homes with known problem materials.
Long-term ownership plans affect the repipe timing decision. Homeowners planning to stay in the property for many years typically benefit from repiping when systems clearly need replacement. Short-term owners planning to sell within a few years sometimes prefer spot repairs to defer the major project to the next owner. Real estate considerations matter because home inspectors regularly identify aging plumbing during pre-sale inspections. Documented repipe work supports cleaner transactions. Our team discusses all these factors openly with homeowners considering repipe timing. Honest assessment supports good decisions.
PEX-A has become the leading choice for residential repipes for several practical reasons. The material is flexible enough to thread through existing walls with minimum demolition, which dramatically reduces the restoration work compared to rigid alternatives. Long continuous runs without buried joints eliminate the connection points where leaks typically develop. Freeze resistance significantly exceeds that of copper because PEX-A can expand slightly when water inside freezes. Manufacturer warranties commonly run 25 years or longer for the material itself.
Type L copper remains a strong option for homeowners who prefer traditional metallic piping. The material has proven longevity with installations exceeding 50 to 70 years in many cases. Soldered joints provide rigid connections that handle vibration and movement well. Copper repipes cost more than PEX in both materials and labor because of the installation differences. The work takes longer because each joint requires soldering rather than the faster mechanical connections used with PEX. Concerns include rising copper prices and potential pinhole leaks in aggressive water chemistry.
CPVC offers another approved option that costs less than copper while providing rigid piping. The material handles hot water service well within rated temperature limits. Installation uses solvent welded joints that require specific techniques and cure times. CPVC has been used successfully for several decades in residential applications. The choice among materials depends on the specific home, water chemistry, budget, and homeowner preferences. Our team helps homeowners weigh factors during material selection rather than defaulting to one universal answer. Every home deserves the material choice that best fits its specific situation.
Water service stays on through most of a typical repipe project despite the major scope of work. Strategic planning of the work allows new piping to be installed alongside existing piping until ready for cutover. Final connection at each fixture or branch creates brief outage periods rather than extended interruptions to water service throughout the home. Most repipes complete with water service restored each evening even during multi-day projects.
Coordination with the homeowner about expected outage timing helps planning around the work. Brief outages during final connections typically last from a few minutes to an hour or so depending on the specific connection and any complications encountered. Communication during the work keeps the homeowner informed about timing. Buckets of water for flushing toilets, drinking water for the household, and arrangements for showering elsewhere can all be planned in advance with proper notice about specific outage windows.
Complex repipes with extensive routing changes sometimes require longer outage periods than typical projects. Slab homes that need significant rerouting create more substantial outage requirements during the cutover phase. Our team explains expected outage patterns during initial planning so the homeowner can prepare accordingly. Patience during the brief outage periods pays off in the long-term reliability of the new system. Restoring water as quickly as practical at each phase is part of how we manage repipe projects to minimize disruption.
Yes, repiping requires permits in the City of Burleson and every surrounding municipality in our service area. Permits protect homeowners by requiring licensed contractors and inspection of completed work at multiple stages. The permit process documents the work and creates a record that supports future home sales and insurance claims. Skipping permits exposes homeowners to insurance denials, resale problems, and potential code enforcement issues.
The permit process typically takes a few business days to a week depending on the city and project complexity. Applications include the project scope, materials being used, the licensed contractor information, and a description of the work. Permit fees vary by city and project size but are generally a modest portion of overall project costs. We include all permitting fees in upfront quotes so there are no surprises. Posted permits must remain visible at the job site during the work.
Inspection requirements typically include rough-in inspection before walls close and final inspection after the system is operational. Rough inspection verifies materials, joining methods, support spacing, and routing compliance with code. Final inspection confirms pressure testing documentation and overall system operation. Our team coordinates every inspection and addresses any items inspectors flag promptly. Passing inspection on the first visit is the goal on every repipe. Our installation practices reflect that priority throughout the work.
A whole-house repipe is significant work that creates real disruption to daily life during the project. Wall and ceiling access cuts open finished surfaces throughout the home in patterns that depend on existing piping routing and the chosen new routing. Furniture and stored items may need to be moved temporarily to provide working access. Daily activities continue around the work in most homes, though some accommodation for the construction is necessary.
Modern PEX retrofit techniques significantly reduce the wall damage compared to traditional copper repipes. PEX flexibility allows the material to be threaded through walls and ceilings through smaller access openings than rigid materials require. Strategic planning of access cuts before work begins minimizes total damage to finished surfaces. Our team works to preserve as much existing finish as practical while completing the work properly.
Restoration after the plumbing portion is typically handled by drywall, paint, and finish contractors rather than the plumbing crew. We focus on the plumbing portion with clean handoffs to other trades for finished surface work. Coordination throughout the project keeps everyone informed about timing and progress. Some homeowners temporarily relocate during repipe projects to avoid daily disruption, while others stay in the home and work around the construction. Either approach works and we adjust our scheduling to match the homeowner’s preferences.
Modern PEX-A piping installed correctly should last 50 years or more in typical residential conditions. Manufacturer warranties from major PEX producers commonly run 25 to 50 years on the material itself. Real-world performance still develops because PEX is newer than copper in widespread residential use. Type L copper installations typically last 50 to 70 years when properly installed in suitable conditions. CPVC installations have shown several decades of successful service in many applications.
Several factors affect the actual service life of any repipe material. Water chemistry significantly impacts metallic piping over years of service. Pressure regulation protects all piping types from premature wear caused by excessive operating pressure. Freeze events can damage piping that lacks adequate protection during severe weather. Installing a pressure reducing valve at the main entry protects the entire new system from pressure-related stress.
Our team installs repipes with longevity as a primary consideration rather than just immediate function. Quality materials, proper support, code-compliant routing, and thorough pressure testing all contribute to systems that perform reliably for decades. Big Blade Plumbing & Rooter has installed many repipes across Burleson, and the systems continue serving the homes long after the original project completes. Investment in a quality repipe pays back through decades of trouble-free water service.
